WARREN (WWJ) A Warren man has pled guilty to human trafficking a young girl.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced James Madison-Cranford, 30, pled to one count each of Human Trafficking of a Minor for Commercial Sexual Activity, Accepting Earnings from Prostitution, Transporting a Person for the Purpose of Prostitution, Conducting a Criminal Enterprise, Assault by Strangulation and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. He also pled to three Counts of Sexual Conduct 3rd Degree.
He will be required to register as a Sex Offender when he is released from the Michigan Department of Corrections.
Prosecutors said, in 2017, Madison-Cranford created an account online “offering for sale sex to a minor,” set up “dates” for the victim and kept the money that was paid to her. According to prosecutors, he also forced her to “perform sexual acts on him” and threatened violence on her if she did not comply.
The victim's age was not released.
The FBI’s Southeast Michigan Trafficking and Crimes Task Force was the first to investigate the case. Madison-Cranford is currently imprisoned in the Michigan Department of Corrections for one count of Accepting Earnings of Prostitution.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 25th in 6th Circuit Court in Oakland County. Judge Cheryl A. Matthews will determine how long he will be in prison at sentencing.
