WARREN (WWJ) A Warren woman was charged with Second-Degree Murder in the death of her husband.
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido announced the charges against Moriah Dandrade, 31, in the death of James Graham, also 31.
“The allegations in this matter are deeply troubling,” Lucido said. “Domestic violence happens to both men and women.”
Prosecutors said the murder occurred in “the early morning hours” of January 27, in the home they shared. Warren officers found both Graham’s body, and Dandrade, inside the house.
The circumstances leading up to the murder, and a motive, remain under investigation. According to prosecutors, more information will be released as it becomes available.
Dandrade was arraigned at the 37th District Court in Warren on Friday, January 30. She was also charged with Tampering with Evidence in a Criminal Case Punishable by More than 10 years, which carries a sentence of up to a decade in prison and/or a fine of $20,000.
If convicted on Second-Degree Murder, she could spend up to life behind bars.
Her bond was set at $500,000 cash/surety. If she posts it, she will be forced to wear a steel-cuff GPS tether.
She is due back in court for a Probable Cause Conference to February 10, and for a Preliminary Exam on February 17.
