PONTIAC (WWJ) -- A 41-year-old Waterford Township man is facing second degree murder and other charges after authorities say he shot and killed a man in Pontiac.

Anthony Louis Ward was arraigned on Wednesday in connection wit the fatal shooting of 36-year-old Deevon Cornea Brown of Pontiac last Saturday.

The investigation began shortly after 6 a.m. on Nov. 15, when deputies were called to the 80 block Wall Street on a report of shots fired.

A caller reported discovering a bullet hole through the back door of a residence but there were no injuries, the sheriff's office said.

While deputies were responding to that shooting, more 911 calls came in reporting similar incidents in the area — including one in which Brown had been shot in the 200 block of Osmun St.

Brown was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Ward on Saturday in Farmington Hills.

He was ordered held without bond at his arraignment in 50th District Tuesday, on charges of second degree murder, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and using a firearm while in the commission of a felony.

There is no information about a possible motive at this time, and it's not clear if Brown may yet be charged in the other shootings.

He will be back in court for a probable cause conference set for Dec. 2.
