(WWJ) – Last week state health officials issued a warning to Michiganders after a farm near Jackson got busted using human waste to fertilize crops.

While a routine safety inspection revealed Kuntry Gardens’ practices violated multiple state and federal regulations, it turns out using human waste to fertilize crops is actually OK. But only in the right situation and by following certain practices.

On a new Daily J, WWJ’s Zach Clark digs into this story and learns while there are limitations, human waste as a fertilizer isn’t as taboo as many thought when the story first broke.
