HAMTRAMCK (WWJ) -- An Oakland County woman is facing felony charges, accused of sexually assaulting two boys inside the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Center.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy on Monday announced what she called the "disturbing" case against 33-year-old Svetlana Kuryanova, who was working at the facility as a juvenile detention specialist at the time of the alleged crimes.

According to Worthy, an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office found that Kuryanova sexually assaulted two minors being held at the center in Hamtramck — a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy — the evening of April 8.

Worthy said further facts and evidence will go on the record at the preliminary examination.

Kuryanova, of Farmington Hills, has been charged with two counts of Second-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct – County Prisoner, which is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

“The allegations in this case are among the most disturbing ones that I have seen," said Worthy, in a statement. "It is hard to wrap my brain around the fact that this occurred in the Juvenile Detention Facility, and charged defendant is allegedly responsible for this illegal behavior."

Kuryanova was arraigned in 31st District Court in Hamtramck on Monday and given a $75,000 cash bond, with the condition that she wear a tether if she's released.

Kuryanova's next scheduled court date is a probable cause conference, set for May 16.
