HIGHLAND TWP. (WWJ) -- A Highland Township woman has died of injuries she suffer in a crash on Highland Road, early this month.
According to Oakland County Sheriff's Office investigators, 75-year-old Lemma Robiadek was driving her Honda Civic westbound on Highland, just after 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, when a driver pulling out of a business turned in front of her car.
Robiadek and the other driver, a 68-year-old Highland Township in a Chevy Equinox, were both taken to a local hospital.
The Chevy driver was treated and released two days later, but Robiadek remained in the hospital where officials said she succumbed to her injuries on Thursday.
Both drivers involved were wearing seatbelts, investigators said, and it is not believe that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the incident.
It's not yet clear what, if any, charges may be filed in the case while the crash remains under investigation by the OCSO Reconstruction Unit.
