SHELBY TWP. (WWJ) -- A Macomb County woman is facing charges after it's alleged she drove drunk and in the wrong direction for miles, while being pursued by police.

Just before midnight on Monday, March 18, Shelby Township Police responded to a call about a wrong-way driver traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of traffic on the Van Dyke Freeway.

Officers responded and found a Black Dodge Ram driven by 37-year-old Alexandria Marie Remington of Macomb Township, still headed in wrong way on M-53, near 23 Mile Road.

Officers tried to pull her over, but police said the woman continued to drive all the way up to 27 Mile Rd., forcing police to shut down the freeway.

The woman eventually came to a stop and was arrested, after refusing to take a breathalyzer test.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

Police released dash cam video of the chase to the public on Tuesday.
