DETROIT (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway after a tragic discovery on Wednesday on Detroit's west side.
According to Detroit Police, a woman's body was found shortly before 3 p.m. on Jan. 8, in a vacant field on Moore Place at 28th Street. That's in the area of I-96 and W. Grand Boulevard.
Police said the woman was not immediately identified. Details such as a description and her approximate age are not being released at this time.
It's not yet clear if foul play is suspect in this case.
Police said the Wayne County Medical Examiner will be working to determine a cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
