(WWJ) A woman was fatally struck while traveling in a wheelchair alongside the road in Ypsilanti Township.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department said the victim, 62, was hit by a car along Michigan Avenue near Harvey Place around 9 p.m. Friday.
She lived in the area. She died from her injuries.
The driver of the car, 36, had her four children in the car with her. They were not hurt.
She stopped at the scene, and was not arrested or ticketed.
