ANN ARBOR (WWJ) -- A woman is expected to be OK, according to police, after she was stabbed by a man on an Ann Arbor city bus.

The attack happened Wednesday morning, in the 2200 block of Fuller Road, across from the VA hospital.

Ann Arbor Police said the 25-year-old victim and a 21-year-old man bumped into each other on the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AATA) bus, at around 8 a.m. The man got mad, pulled a knife and allegedly slashed the woman across the chest.

The man ran from the bus, police said, but was arrested a short distance away.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of with non-life-threatening injuries. She was last reported to be in stable condition, police said.

Detectives are now working to determine whether the suspect in custody is the same man involved in two other stabbings in Ann Arbor in the past week.

His name hasn't been released, with charges pending.
