TROY (WWJ) - A woman sustained non-life threatening injuries after she was shot in the legs outside an upscale Oakland County steakhouse on Monday evening -- and police believe it was a targeted incident.
The Troy Police Department said in an update to social media that the woman is in stable condition after the frightening incident around 6:34 p.m. in the parking lot valet area of Ruth's Chris Steak House in the 750 block of Big Beaver Road on Monday, February 19.
"A woman in her 20s was leaving the restaurant around dinnertime on Monday and a white Dodge Durango in this parking lot apparently open fired, hitting the woman in her legs," WWJ's Charlie Langton reported live from the scene on Tuesday morning where the restaurant's front doors still sported broken glass from a fragmented round.
According to Langton, the victim had just finished dining at the establishment and was reportedly walking to her vehicle with a 4-year-old child and a female friend when the shooting unfolded.
Police said the woman was rushed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries to her legs and hip area, but is in stable condition.
Neither the child or female friend were injured.
"The victim and witnesses have given limited information," the department said in an updated press release just before noon on Tuesday. "Officers did learn that a white Dodge Durango was potentially involved in the shooting (photos attached) and immediately put that information out to area departments."

The suspect vehicle was then spotted and pursued by the Hazel Park Police Department on southbound I-75 into the City of Detroit where it was lost in the area of of Linwood and Warren Ave.
The department said "the investigation thus far indicates that the victim and/or the accompanying witness were specifically targeted."
"The suspects' actions also placed a 4-year-old child and restaurant staff and patrons in immediate danger," Troy police continued.
Anyone with any information about the shooting as been asked to contact the department at their confidential tip line at 248-524-0777.
