BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) — The search is on for a group of women who allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of supplements and vitamins from a high-end grocery store in Bloomfield Township last week.
Around 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 13 a group of four women entered the Plum Market at Maple and Lahser Roads and stole about $5,000 to $7,000 worth of supplements and vitamins, according to Bloomfield Twp. police.
The suspects "stuffed the supplements/vitamins into their clothing and under their long skirts before leaving the store," according to police.
Police released surveillance video that shows the women gathering in the aisle and grabbing loads of supplements and vitamins and appearing to stuff them into their dresses.
Authorities did not specify what supplements were stolen.
The store manager told police he had been notified that the Plum Market locations in West Bloomfield and Ann Arbor had also fallen victim to the same crime.
It was not immediately clear if the incidents are related.
Plum Market is a grocery store and market that emphasizes organic, clean and natural products. There are four full-scale stores across Southeast Michigan, along with four small-format locations, including at Detroit Metro Airport.
Authorities are asking anyone who knows about the crime to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248-433-7755.
