YPSILANTI, Mich. (WWJ) -- A convicted felon is facing up to four decades behind bars for allegedly robbing a bank in Ypsilanti.

Investigators say 49-year-old Ken Wilson of Ypsilanti walked into the Chase Bank on East Ellsworth and Carpenter Road in Ypsilanti on March 23 with a bag and approached the teller.

Wilson told the teller this was a robbery and demanded she give him all the money she had.

Wilson made off with $1,000 before fleeing the scene, which prompted a high-speed chase that ended with the suspect smashing into a median on US-23 in Pittsfield Township.

Police found a semi-automatic handgun, rifle and several loaded magazines in Wilson's vehicle, along with the stolen cash.

Wilson was arraigned Tuesday on robbery and firearm charges. He could face up to 40 years in prison if convicted.
