Steve Yzerman and the Red Wings have swung a trade at the draft -- for two players who should help the team next season.

The Wings have acquired 24-year-old forwards Kailer Yamamoto and Klim Kostin, a pair of first-round picks in 2017, from the Oilers in exchange for future considerations.

Yamamoto, a right wing, had 10 goals and 35 points in 58 games last season. He scored 20 goals the season before that. Drafted 22nd overall, he carries a $3.1 million cap hit next season, after which he'll be a restricted free agent.

Kostin, a left wing, had 11 goals and 21 points in 58 games last season. A 6'3, he brings some of the size and physicality the Wings are lacking. Drafted 31st overall by the Blues, he's a restricted free agent who needs a contract for next season.
