Vikings Wide Receiver Jordan Addison's has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of " reckless driving" in his DUI case in California.
As part of the plea deal, Addison will be placed on probation for 12 months, and pay a fine as well as complete two online courses.
The move resolves his 2024 DUI citation, but while his legal case is over, this plea still leaves him subject to NFL discipline.
A first offense involving alcohol in a driving incident typically means Addison is facing a three-game suspension.
The NFL has yet to issue a statement on the matter.
The Vikings open the season September 8 in Chicago. The next two games are home against Atlanta and home against Cincinnati, if Addison were to miss the first three games of the season.
Addison was arrested last July in California on suspicion of driving under the influence. That made it the second straight year he has found trouble behind the wheel right before the beginning of training camp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, an officer responded to a report of a disabled vehicle blocking a lane on the westbound Interstate 105 exit to Sepulveda Boulevard that leads to Los Angeles International Airport.
The officer found Addison asleep in the driver’s seat of his white Rolls-Royce, conducted a DUI investigation and arrested him.
Drafted out of USC in the first round with the 23rd overall pick in 2023, Addison was arrested by the Minnesota State Patrol for excessive speeding and reckless driving after a late-night highway ride through St. Paul for which he was clocked at 140 mph in a 55 mph zone three days before he reported to his first training camp. Addison told the officer he was speeding home because his dog was having an emergency.
