Entergy New Orleans reports more than 13,000 customers lost power in Uptown, Central City, and Broadmoor this evening.
No reason for the outage was given. The company says it is working to restore service by 10:30 p.m. in most areas. Some areas may be without power through midnight.
The outage comes after an afternoon where the heat index reached 117 at Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
