The latest COVID-19 coronavirus numbers are in and they show Orleans and Jefferson Parishes continue to lead the state's 64 parishes in the number of cases.
As many as 2084 are hospitalized, with 458 of them on ventilators.
But there is good news, the number of those hospitalized rose by only 19--the smallest jump since April 1st.
34-more people have succumb to the infectious disease.
Experts say the numbers that are coming in are pointing to a projected plateau of numbers.
That's good news when it comes to showing the curve of the disease flattening out.
Officials say this means social distancing appears to be producing results in combating spread of the virus.
