A violent week continues in N.O. with 4 more shootings

Five people are shot in four separate shootings in New Orleans on Wednesday, continuing a week of violence.

The first shooting happened yesterday about 6:21 p.m. in the 3600 block of Frenchmen Street near Dillard University according to police. The investigation started when a victim arrived to the hospital with gunshot wound.


About 24 minutes later, NOPD got a call of a male victim with a gunshot wound to the face at the intersection of Pauger and North Derbigny Streets in the 7th Ward. EMS took the victim to the hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.

NOPD then respond to a third shooting Wednesday. This time in the 12300 block of South I-10 Service Road near The Home Depot in New Orleans East. Initial police reports show two victims with gunshot wounds. They were transported by EMS to the hospital. Their condition is not known.

Then about 1:39 a.m. another shooting happened. This time in the 13500 block of Granville Street in the Willow Brook neighborhood in New Orleans East.

All of the shootings are under investigation. Police did not reveal the victims’ names or their condition at this time.

In all, this makes 12 shooting incidents in New Orleans since Monday.
