
Crews were able to rescue a pair of people and their pet from a sinking boat off the Louisiana coast.
"The Coast Guard rescued two people and a dog from a disabled vessel that was taking on water offshore Venice, Louisiana," authorities said in a news release.
The call came in just after 8:00pm Sunday.
"A disabled 35-foot sailing vessel taking on water with one adult, one child and a dog aboard approximately 15 miles southwest of Southwest Pass."
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans went to rescue the people and the dog.
"The aircrew arrived on scene at 11:24 p.m., hoisted the two people and the dog and transported them to Air Station New Orleans in stable condition."
