The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center says the New Orleans area has an enhanced risk of severe weather Saturday morning. That's a level three on a five-level scale.

"There is a little better chance for tornadoes in that region according to the latest forecast models," said WWL-TV meteorologist Dave Nussbaum. "A squall line of thunderstorms will move in starting around 9 AM and they will continue until 1 PM."

The storms could produce hail, tornadoes, and one to two inches of rain.

Following the stormy weather is a cold front that will bring us cold temperatures Saturday night.
