Police in and around Hammond, Louisiana are investigating after arresting a man who may have been armed with several explosive devices.
Hammond Police Chief Edwin Bergeron Jr. says the man crashed a car into the Target at Hammond Square.
"He ran through the store. He dropped a device on the ground. We are not sure if it is an explosive."
Bergeron says the suspect also had another package with him when they arrested him.
"He did have one device on his person."
The chief says the suspect also allegedly left packages at the Sanderson Farms facility and the Dollar General store on Wardline Road.
"We have four different suspicious packages."
All shoppers and employees were cleared of the area.
"We have completely evacuated the mall area."
Bergeron said reports the suspect had guns were not accurate.
"We did not locate any handguns or any firearms at this point."
No one was hurt.
"There was nobody injured on scene."
He says some broken glass may have caused minor injuries.
Social media reports had claimed there was an explosion and shooting.
