A Galliano man faces charges after police say they discovered drugs and a concealed handgun on him, and say that during his booking, jail guards found another firearm in the man's buttocks.

Golden Meadow Police say officers noticed "suspicious activity" at a N. Bayou Road residence, where they made contact with Justin Savoie and Lori Dupuy.

"During the encounter Dupuy gave a false name to the officers," police said in a statement. "When the officers went into the residence to locate Dupuy, she had fled the scene. Officers detained Savoie and, during a pat down, discovered a concealed handgun, marijuana and a pipe on his person."

Police say they arrested Savoie and took him to the South Lafourche sub-station, where the pistol was found in Savoie's buttocks during a strip-search.

"While Savoie was being processed, officers at the residence noticed Savoie’s truck door was open, and a homemade 'zip gun' was lying on the floor of the truck," said police. "Officers then obtained a search warrant for the truck and recovered several more firearms and homemade suppressors."

Authorities booked Savoie with marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, taking contraband to a penal institution, and improper registration of a firearm.

Dupuy is at large, and is wanted on warrants issued by Probation and Parole and the Golden Meadow Police Department.
