New Orleans police are investigating a gruesome discovery made by a homeowner along the banks of Bayou St. John: a body inside a bag floating in the bayou.
Earlier reports indicated the body was found in the home's back yard. NOPD later clarified that the body was floating in the bayou.
According to the NOPD's major offense log, officers were called to the home on Bancroft Street near Filmore Avenue just before 5 p.m. Sunday.
According to investigators, the resident discovered the bag and then found the body inside it. Police have classified the case as an "unclassified death."
