A pair of B-52 Stratofortress bombers, accompanied by F-15 Eagle fighters, will fly over the city of New Orleans Friday in a salute to the area's medical workers who have been fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
The eight-engine bombers and twin-tailed fighter jets will also soar over Baton Rouge.
The flyover is part of America Strong, "a collaborative salute from the U.S. Air Force and Navy to recognize healthcare workers, first responders, and other essential personnel while standing in solidarity with all Americans during this pandemic."
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are also expected to make a New Orleans flyover. Details of that have yet to be announced.
