Loved ones will honor the life of long-time college and pro football analyst Mike Detillier with a service on Saturday, September 19th.
Visitation is open to public and set for 8:00am at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church at 333 Twin Oaks Drive in Raceland, with the funeral mass at noon.
Burial will follow.
Detillier died on September sixth after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was 65-years-old.
Detillier is survived by his wife Linda and their two daughters Stephanie and Kimberly, along with granddaughters Norah and Mia.
A Lafourche Parish native, Detillier graduated from Central Lafourche High School where he played fullback and linebacker.
He went on to study aquatic engineering at Louisiana Tech and Sacramento State. He worked as an engineer for the state of Louisiana until making his passion for football analysis his full-time job.
Detillier started publishing an NFL Draft guide in the 1980’s and became a featured analysist on WWL. He grew that into appearances on hundreds of radio and TV sports programs.
In 2021 WWL made Detillier a full-time host of SportsTalk.
He was experiencing abdominal pain in late August. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer and died less than two weeks later.
