All residents on the West Bank of Jefferson Parish can now use their water without boiling or disinfecting

A boil water advisory for the area was lifted late Wednesday morning.

According to The Louisiana Department of Health and Jefferson Parish Water Department, the advisory was lifted around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The boil water advisory was originally issued Tuesday morning, and included all of the West Bank of Jefferson Parish except for the City of Gretna and Grand Isle.

The advisory was issued after work being performed by an outside contractor caused a loss in water pressure at the treatment plant and distribution system. The work being done was to replace water valves near Ames and Lapalco boulevards.
