New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell says she will not conduct a national search for the next NOPD Chief.
"The buck stops with me," she said in a social media post. "I will announce the @NOPDNews new Chief hire on Monday."
Cantrell also said Wednesday, "My selection will be from within. There will be no selection committee."
She added that she believes the city has what it needs already in the New Orleans Police Department.
The mayor used another post to say she will be "intentional" and do things "that matter."
