
Third District officers have arrested a suspect in an armed carjacking on Friday.
The suspect, 18-year-old Messiah Thompson, and three others reportedly still at large are under investigation of forcibly stealing a car from a woman on South Alexander Street near Ulloa in the Mid City.
NOPD says the crime took place just after 11pm Friday night when the victim parked her car.
That’s when four unknown armed perpetrators approached, threatened the victim and demanded her vehicle.
The victim complied and the perpetrators fled in the victim’s car.
The next day, Third District officers spotted the car and gave chase.
The driver, later identified as Thompson, fled the vehicle and was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.
The three additional unknown perpetrators in this incident remain at large.
NOPD reports the investigation remains active and ongoing.
