Parking restrictions around the French Quarter and Superdome start Saturday in hopes of keeping traffic moving and pedestrians safe.

French Quarter:

NOPD and LSP will be screening vehicles trying to get into the French Quarter.  Starting Saturday night and extending through Monday the area bordered by Canal, North Rampart, Dumaine and Decatur will be limited to residents, hotel guests, taxis and ride hailing, and employees from 8pm to 4am.  To ease traffic congestion ride hailing services will be required to drop passengers headed for the French Quarter to left them off outside the perimeter.

From 8pm through 4am certain streets in the French Quarter will be closed to vehicle traffic:  Bourbon Street from Canal to Dumaine streets.  The 700 and 800 blocks (effectively Royal to Dauphine) of St. Ann, Orleans, St. Peter, Toulouse, St. Louis, Conti, Bienville and Iberville streets are closed to all traffic.  Decatur Street between Canal and Dumaine streets will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on game day.

Numerous No Parking Zones are in place and other areas may be designated No Parking if needed.  Strict enforcement to keep these areas clear will be taken.

Mercedes Benz Superdome:

All streets around the Mercedes Benz Superdome will be closed on Monday January 13.  This includes Sugar Bowl Drive, Dave Dixon Drive, Magnolia Street, Julia Street and LeRouge Lane.

Numerous No Parking Zones are in place and other areas may be designated No Parking if needed.  Strict enforcement to keep these areas clear will be taken.

Hard Rock Hotel Zone:

Road closures associated with the evacuation zone of the collapsed Hard Rock Hotel remain in place, including Canal Street from Burgundy to Elk streets and North Rampart Street from Bienville to Common streets.

Downtown and City Wide Closures:

Temporary closures will be in place starting Monday afternoon ahead of kick off for the College Football Playoff National Championship.  Ticket holders and other visitors coming into New Orleans are advised to allow extra travel time to account for delays, detours, and closures.

Thousands of fans and spectators in and around the Superdome may result in streets being blocked on game day.  All visitors and game day attendees are encouraged to use alternate means of getting to the game.  This includes public transit, biking and walking.

Parking Restrictions:

As with any city and town, restrictions are in place when it comes to fire hydrants, driveways, and sidewalks.  In New Orleans you cannot park within 20-feet of crosswalks, intersections, or stop signs.  On one way street you must park in the direction of travel.  On two way streets, the right wheel of the car must be next to the curb.
