Continued warm and muggy, some Sunday showers possible

The sun didn't rise until 7:17 this morning, with Daylight Saving Time having started at 2 a.m.

As for the rest of your Sunday, local weather expert, WWL-TV meteorologist Chris Franklin, says it's not looking too bad, and we should see some sunshine from time to time.

"There's just a 30 percent chance for some scattered showers as a cold front has settled north of our area, but that is helping to create enough instability to trigger some rain. The best chance will be north of the lake today."

"That rain chance goes to about 40 percent Monday, as that front may sag just a little farther south. The front dissipates and we stay relatively dry, but warmer for Tuesday and Wednesday," says Franklin.

He says all signs point to a cold front moving through late Thursday and into Friday. "

So, Thursday and Friday morning look wet, but it should clear out during the day Friday. After the Friday morning showers, it'll turn much cooler and clear out just in time for the Irish Channel parade."
