When a Biloxi police officer was shot to death in an ambush outside a police station, it shocked the public and the police.
Michael Glasser, President of the Police Association of New Orleans, says all cops feel the pain when a comrade goes down, but this case was so brazen as he was killed outside a police station.
''Some criminals feel like there is no penalty and I don't think they have any problem with violence against citizens or police,'' said Glasser.
The FBI reports cop-killing was up in 2018 compared to the year before. Glasser says police don't want to overreact.
''How quickly can police react in a case of danger or use deadly force, in situations like this one if don't pay close attention if maybe you're last chance," Glasser said.
