Police say they shooting that left a man dead and a woman critically injured in St. Charles Parish was domestic violence.
"All evidence indicates that the male and female knew each other, and had recently separated from a non-marital relationship," St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Corporal James Grimaldi said in a news release. "Evidence indicates that the male subjectshot the female subject before taking his own life with the firearm."
It happened Monday night around 9:00pm.
"The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in the Charlestowne Subdivision in St. Rose."
They got there and found a 42-year-old black male and a 44-year-old black female with apparent gunshot wounds.
"The female subject was taken by helicopter to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The male subject was pronounced deceased while at the scene."
At last report the woman remained in critical condition at University Medical Center.
