Louisiana now has more than 13,000 people infected with coronavirus.
The state also saw the death of 68 more victims reportedly from COVID-19 from Saturday to Sunday.
That represents the largest day-to-day jump in numbers of deaths. It is not clear how many of those people died over a 24 hour period compared to how many tests came back confirming people who already died had coronavirus.
At the same time, today's addition of 514 cases was a notable drop in the number of newly confirmed COVID-19 positive test results in the state.
Over the past couple of weeks we have seen wide fluctuations based on the number of tests processed the number of people tested and various other factors.
