Hurricane Dorian has strengthened into a monster storm.
"Data from a NOAA Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate that the maximum sustained winds have increased to near 140 mph," The National Hurricane Center announced.
That makes Dorian a category four hurricane in the five category scale.
"Some additional strengthening is possible tonight and Saturday," the NHC advisory warned.
Winds may lose some of the intensity as Dorian gets very close to or slams into the Florida coast near the Cape Canaveral.
The hurricane is forecast to rake along the Florida coast from Tuesday until Wednesday before moving near Georgia Wednesday night into Thursday.
That means Dorian will have a long time to dump a lot of rain.
"This rainfall may cause life-threatening flash floods."
There could also be life-threatening winds and waves.
