This Saturday, The Night Tripper will be sent on his final trip. A public visitation will be held for Mac Rebbenack, AKA Dr. John.
The Orpheum Theater on Roosevelt Way in downtown New Orleans will host a public visitation from 7:00 - 10:30 a.m. June 22. It will be followed by a private memorial from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Orpheum, but the service will be broadcast live on WWOZ-FM.
Following the memorial, the public is invited to celebrate the life and music of Dr. John in a second line that will begin at the Orpheum at 3:00 o'clock.
