Dry and cool for St. Patrick's Day celebrations

All the folks dressed in green today for St. Patrick's Day will party under grey skies.

But, local weather expert, WWL-TV meteorologist Chris Franklin, says today's weather conditions set a proper mood for the Celtic celebrations.

"It feels more like Ireland than New Orleans this weekend," says Franklin.

"We'll continue the cooler than normal temperatures today with most of the rain staying south of the city and more along the coast and farther offshore. Mostly cloudy skies once again, but at least we are beginning to dry out."

Chris says Monday brings mostly high clouds, but more sunshine and mostly sunny skies through all of this week and into next weekend.

"A weak, reinforcing upper pattern will keep the Gulf moisture well to our south for the next 7 days. It's the luck of the Irish!"
