An Orleans Parish Coroner's van left the partially collapsed Hard Rock Hotel construction site Monday.
Inside were the remains of Jose Ponce Arreola.
His body was the third and final one still trapped under the rubble more than ten months after the collapse at the building.
Nine days earlier New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell was at the site with the family of Quinnyon Wimberly as firefighters removed his remains.
Afterward the mayor and fire chief held a news conference.
There was no news conference Monday.
Cantrell posted to Facebook, "The City of New Orleans today confirmed the removal by a recovery team of the remains of Jose Ponce Arreola, who was killed in the collapse of the Hard Rock project last October."
She said she was grateful to finally have some measure of closure for both families who had to experience "an intolerable delay."
Fire Chief Tim McConnell and the mayor were there for a private service.
"It is a terrible relief to begin finally bringing this process to an end,” Cantrell said. "The safe and respectful removal of our people has been a top priority throughout, and I am grateful to God that this day has finally come. Moving forward, we will continue to hold ownership accountable, at every level. No one wanted it to be this way, but we are grateful to the recovery team for finally getting us to this point."
The body of Anthony Magrette was recovered shortly after the collapse in October.
