The last couple of weeks of July are a popular time for folks to take a vacation.  Imagine, however, showing up for your flight and finding there was no place to park.

That became an issue this past weekend when all of the parking lots at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport were completely full.

Apparently people who had left over the previous week and not yet returned, along with all of the people heading out put too much demand on the available parking.

"Because of high passenger traffic this weekend, all parking garages operated by the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport are full," New Orleans Aviation Board Director of Communications Erin Burns said Saturday.

That included the Short Term Garage, Long Term Garage, Credit Card Lot as well as Overflow Lots.

Burns urged travelers to plan ahead and use taxis, public transportation or rideshare services.  Enough people came home Sunday to ease the problem.

"All parking options are available at the airport this morning," she said.
