Today activists will rally to demand accountability and justice for the families of three men killed in the Hard Rock collapse, which happened four months ago today.

Four months, and still the hulk stands above Canal and Rampart streets. Trey Monaghan, who organized a march on city hall last month, says they want to see the responsible people held accountable.

"I think it's still about putting pressure on the appropriate people here," to get action, said Monaghan. "Let's make that happen. That should be a priority because right now there is nothing there to hold them accountable."

Monaghan did not organize today's event, but he'll be outside city hall today with others who want justice for the families of the men killed in the collapse.

New Orleans Fire Department Superintendent Tim McConnell said the city absolutely sympathizes with the demonstrators, and they want to tear the building down and recover the bodies just as badly.

"I will assure you that we are working as hard as we can to make it happen," said McConnell. "I am as frustrated, the administration is as frustrated as anyone to get this process done, and we urge all the parties to make it happen, sooner than later, because as soon as we get the contract done, I think you'll see action pretty quick."

Monaghan is also calling on people to show up at today's City Council Economic Development committee meeting at 1:00 p.m., to demand changes to the Responsible Bidder Ordinance in the hope of minimizing the risk of something like this happening again.
