Governor John Bel Edwards announces residents in three additional storm-damaged parishes will receive FEMA hurricane relief.
Edwards made the announcement during his press conference Monday.
This means federal hurricane relief money will be available for Hurricane Laura victims in Acadia, Ouachita and Vermilion parishes.
“This brings the total number of parishes approved for individual assistance to nine,” said Edwards. “Our request includes an additional 14 parishes and that is pending with FEMA.”
Edwards urged storm victims to register with FEMA sooner than later.
“So if you suffered damage in Hurricane Laura and live in one of the nine parishes approved for individual assistance, please register as soon as you can,” Edwards said.
Here is a list of the other parishes approved for individual hurricane relief money:
- Acadia
- Allen
- Beauregard
- Calcasieu
- Cameron
- Jefferson Davis
- Ouachita
- Vermillion
- Vernon
