More heat today, record highs expected through the weekend.
WWL-TV’s Meteorologist Dave Nussbuam says, “The streak of days with record heat continues today across the New Orleans area. A mid to upper-level area of high pressure will build over the Gulf of Mexico today through Saturday. This will keep us dry with plenty of sunshine today. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s to around 90. The record high is 84 set back in 2011 and we will break that today. This would once again tie the all-time record high for March of 89 in New Orleans at MSY.”
