How important is a team leader in the locker room? Demario Davis stepped in with a pregame speech before the Seattle game.
"I think he (Davis) did an outstanding job getting the guys fired up," said WWL's Bobby Hebert. "They're looking at each other in the eye. You gotta get that fire in your belly."
According to Hebert, football is such a team sport, it's amazing the camaraderie a team has with their teammates so having a team leader is so important.
"Who do you want to be in the foxhole with, you hear that cliche, but it's so true, like who has your back, and you uplift one another," Hebert said. "A lot of times you have vocal leaders, you have guys that lead by example. I can tell you Vaughn Johnson, who was part of the dome patrol, he never said much but when he did, it was like EF Hutton, you listened."
Hebert says even when Drew comes back even if it's on the sidelines he'll do what ever the team wants him to do. In other words, Hebert says Drew wants Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill to excel at that position, so Hebert thinks he'll be more of a leader behind closed doors and not so much in public.
