Indictments: Three men facing murder charges in Orleans Parish

All three could face life in prison if convicted

The Orleans Parish grand jury today handed a trio of indictments for murder.

All three defendants could face life in prison if convicted. 


Azemore Joseph is facing second degree murder charges in the death of 70-year-old Lloyd Vanderhorst. 

Joseph is accused of firing shots into Vanderhorst’s home, with one of the bullets hitting the elderly man in the chest.  

Other than the murder indictment Joseph is also facing a charge of obstructing justice in a homicide investigation.

Also facing a second degree murder charge is Larry Rowel. 

The 21-year-old is charged in the December 2019 killing of 26-year-old Terrance Hampton. 

Rowel is accused of one of three men who, wearing ski masks, got out of a car in front of Hampton and opened fire. 

Dijon Curtis is accused of killing 20-year-old Brent Jenkins on the corner of Washington Avenue and Dryades Street on January 26th of this year. 

Curtis was caught on surveillance video gunning down Jenkins.  Curtis was captured after while hiding in an attic in Gentilly. 

The 20-year-old is charged with obstructing justice in a homicide investigation and aggravated burglary in a separate incident in February.
