A lot has to happen for the Saints to get a higher seed in the playoffs. The first step is to win tonight against the Indianapolis Colts.

“The word of the week is injuries,” said the Voice of the Saints, WWL’s Zach Strief.

Both teams have been bitten by the injury bug.   The Colts are coming in banged up, as they have been all season, with T.Y. Hilton seeing limited playing time, and running back Eric Ebrin, who lead them in received touchdowns last year, and Marlin Mack their starting running back.

With the Saints down two defensive lineman, Marcus Davenport and Sheldon Rankins, players who were getting 30 percent of the snaps are now going to be asked to get 50-60 percent.

If the Saints can shut down the Colts’ running game, Strief said he is “confident that this is not a football team that can beat the Saints.”
