Former St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain posted bail and walked out of jail today. Strain had little to say as he walked into a waiting vehicle and left the scene.
"There will be plenty of comments, but not today," said Strain as he passed cameras and microphones. "There's a time for that, and it's in a courtroom, not here on the street."
Strain was arrested Tuesday and booked on charges of rape and incest. He spent three nights in jail while gathering the resources to post $400,000 bond.
He faces mandatory life in prison if convicted.
