
The Krewe of Zulu celebrates Lundi Gras with music, food, and entertainment on the French Quarter riverfront.
Eight-hundred members of The Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club will host the 27th Annual Zulu Lundi Gras Festival in Woldenberg Park along the river. The festival starts at 10:00 a.m. today until 6:30 p.m.
Our Lundi Gras festival I anticipate great things on the banks of the mighty Mississippi river," said Zulu President Elroy James. "The organization has planned a spectacular Marid Gras celebration not only for the citizens of New Orleans but for the visitors of our great city."
The festival features 20 local and world-famous performers across three stages. The festival lineup includes Rockin Dopsie, Claude Bryant & the Allstars, Big Al Carson, DJ Dirty Red, Zulu Ensemble gospel choir, and many more.
The festival will introduce Brian M. Sims and Dr. Chanda Macias as Zulu King and Queen along with members of their royal court. King Zulu will arrive at 5 p.m. to greet all including New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell and King Rex at Spanish Plaza.
