Louisiana’s Fire Marshal released COVID-19 guidelines for outdoor places of worship to follow when they reopen to their congregations.

State Fire Chief H. “Butch” Browning said in an 'Interpretive Memorandum' that any tent used for outdoor worship must be open on all four sides and not enclosed, and there must be a ‘Crowd Manager’ which the memo described as a person or church usher assigned to ensure people are practicing good social distancing during the mass or sermon. The memo also gives suggested seating arrangements that are spaced 6 feet apart.

The fire marshal says these guidelines align with Governor John Bel Edwards’ COVID-19 Proclamation released Friday.
