Man arrested in Fifth District homicide

The NOPD is arrested a man in connection with a homicide that occurred in the Fifth District.

39-year-old Kedrick Flemings surrendered to NOPD officers Wednesday.

Flemings is charged with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in the 1700 block of Desire Street. Flemings also surrendered a weapon at the time of his arrest.  Investigators are awaiting the results of ballistic tests to confirm it was the weapon used in the shooting.

The incident occurred on March 17, 2019, in the 1700 block of Desire Street.  Through the course of investigation, detectives obtained surveillance footage which captured a vehicle fleeing the scene.

Flemings was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on one count of second-degree murder.
