Officers cruising a Central City neighborhood heard a single gunshot ring out and sought out source of the gunshot and happened upon a victim down in the street near the intersection of Rev. John Raphael Jr. Way and Clio Street.
Officers chased down a suspect they saw running from the scene.
Moments later police also apprehended a second man finally taking him into custody near the intersection of Magazine and Thalia Sts.
A weapon was found on the suspect as he was being taken into custody
The victim was declared dead at the scene.
New Orleans Police are investigating the crime.
