Tropics

The National Hurricane Center says what was Tropical Storm Marco has now weakened into a tropical depression.

"Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 35 mph," the advisory said. "Additional weakening is expected, and Marco is forecast to become a remnant low on Tuesday.  The system is then forecast to dissipate by early Wednesday."

The center of what is left of Marco is now south of Grand Isle.

"Marco is forecast to continue moving westward near the coast of Louisiana for the next day or so."

Tropical Storm Laura, meanwhile, is forecast to get into the Gulf tomorrow and head for a landfall near the Texas-Louisiana state line.

Category Three starts at 111 miles per hour.

If Laura gets that strong it would be the first major hurricane to hit Louisiana in nearly 15 years.
